Help a Family in Need This Christmas
I recently started working out at Skyrobics at Skyzone, and I met a woman named Sharon. She explained to me that her neighbor’s home just burned down, right before Christmas. She wanted to plan a small fundraiser for the family, having people pledge money for each lap we do during the class. I’d like to take it a step further and ask all of my readers to considering helping out. There are a few ways you can make a huge difference for this family.
Sponsor me per Rouncing lap
Rouncing is basically running on a trampoline. It’s a combination of running and bouncing, hence the term bouncing. Ten minutes of rouncing is the equivelent of 30 minutes of intense running. In short, it’s really freaking hard. I will be recording my laps during class for 3 classes. To give you an idea, I have never done more than 30. If you would like to pledge per lap, please send me an email at reasek [at] gmail.com.
Make a flat donation
If you don’t want to pledge per lap, you can just make a flat donation of any amount. Just use this donate paypal button and when the tie comes to present the check to the family, I’ll post photos of how happy they are!
Send a gift
The saddest part about this story is that the family has several kids. These children lost a lot in the fire, including clothing and their chance at a nice Christmas. If you are in the St. Louis area, it would be great if you could bring them a little Christmas gift. Here are the sizes of everyone in the family:
Mother: m/l, 10 pant size, 9 shoe size
3 Boys: med, 30/30 9 shoe size
Girl: 14/16 or small adult, pant 12 girls, 6 or 5 womens shoes
Youngest boy: 8/10 shirt size, 8 pants size, 2 shoe size.
Give what you can, when you can
I realize the holidays are a tight time for most people’s budgets. While we would like to collect the money by December 20th so we can present it to the family, if you would like to wait until January to make your payment, that would be just fine. Just contact me and let me know how much you’d like to donate and when you can afford to send it.
I never blatantly ask you guys to share my posts. I trust that if you like something, you’ll just share it on your own, but this is different. This isn’t about me, this is for a family in need. So please, spread the word!
Thank you everyone! Every donation helps!
