Representing Missouri in the United Sharing Adventure
I am very happy to announce that I worked with 49 other travelers from around the US to represent the 50 states of the USA! I, of course, represented my home state of Missouri. I submitted a few photos from around the state to be a part of their interactive photo map of the entire country. Here’s a quick blurb about MY state, go check out the the United Sharing Adventure on HostelBookers.com to see the rest and make your own contributions!
My photo represents the state of Missouri where, despite their reputation being the “Show-Me State,” they certainly believe in making the best of the old and the new! For instance, St. Louis chefs – who introduced ice cream in a cone and hot dogs in a bun to America – continue to break boundaries with inventive dishes like toasted ravioli and delicious gooey butter cake. Meanwhile, centuries-old family traditions persist at Adam Puchta & Sons Winery outside of Hermann, one of the oldest wineries in the country. Family-friendly activities abound in Missouri with rides for all ages at the Worlds of Fun Amusement Park in Kansas City, Branson’s Silver Dollar City with down-home musical performances on authentic showboats and the Hurricane Harbor Water Park at Six Flags St. Louis. Rise above it all with a 630 feet tram ride to the top of the Gateway Arch for magnificent views and exhibits celebrating America’s western expansion movement.
